What's on WYSO
for October 2018

What's on WYSO is our way of sharing stories you may have missed, and letting you know what's coming up this month for WYSO.

New Series: Recovery Stories

WYSO Managing Editor Jess Mador brings conversations from Dayton’s opioid crisis with her new series Recovery Stories.  These first-person accounts from Daytonians personally affected by the epidemic bring stories of loss, love, hope and recovery.  "A Boy in A Man Costume: Two Generations Of Addiction And Recovery In Dayton" tells of a father's 14-year journey to recovery and his gratitude to the mentor who guided him there.

New Season of Veterans' Voices

Veterans' Voices is back, and will be running through mid-November.  Through our Community Voices partnership with Wright State University, Miami Valley veterans converse with one another about their various conflicts, experiences, and re-entry into civilian life.  Latest from Veterans' Voices:
•Woman Veterans Pursue Military Career Paths Beyond Gendered Stereotypes
•American And Russian-born Veterans Share Similarities, Differences in Military Experience

P.S. There is still time to donate to WYSO for a chance to win a pair of tickets to Hamilton, coming to Cincinnati's Aronoff Center in February.  Any donation earns an entry!
