On behalf of the Air Force Research Laboratory and the Wright-Patterson Educational Outreach Office, we would like to invite you and your guest  to join us for  the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Miami Valley Regional tournament at the Ervin J. Nutter Center from March 1-3, 2018.  There will be a special VIP event occurring on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 2 p.m. (see attached flyer for details) that will feature a panel of students and adults from FIRST programs who will speak about the impact of FIRST. FRC VIP Program flyer

FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is a high school age program combining the excitement of sports with the rigors of Science and Technology (S&T).  FRC's primary objective is to get students interested and excited about STEM and on-track to pursue future careers in S&T.  In FRC, teams of 10-50 students raise and manage funds, 'brand' and market their team, and in six weeks build and program a full-size, up to 120 pound robot.   Students then compete with, and against, other teams from around the region and the world

in a three day competition rivaling any big sporting event.

This year, we are excited to host 62 FRC teams at the Miami Valley Regional, with teams from nine states.

We would be pleased if you could plan to join us for the VIP event/presentation this presentation and stay to tour and  watch some of the event competition.   From this tournament six teams will be invited to attend the World Championship in Detroit, Michigan in April.

Please RSVP by Feb. 28, 2018  at the survey found here https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MiamiValleyVIP
