Join us to hear about the City of Xenia!

As the City Planner for the City of Xenia, Brian Forschner helps Xenia shape its future, helping leaders be proactive and determine how best to grow, develop and improve the community over time. Brian leads the Planning and Zoning Division of the City’s Development Department and leads long-range development planning efforts, as well as efforts to implement those plans through policy, development decisions and regulations, permitting and special improvement projects. Brian holds a Master’s Degree in City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University, as well as a certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners. His 23 years of experience as an urban planner include 13 with the City of Xenia.

A tool that cities use to shape their future development, often over a 10-year period, is the Comprehensive Plan. Xenia adopted an award-winning Comprehensive Plan in 2013 called X-Plan. Now the City is in the process of updating X-Plan through an initiative called neXtPlan. A big part of neXtPlan is public participation – inviting Xenia residents and stakeholders to help develop the plan. To be successful, a plan must have the support and input of its residents, stakeholders and leaders.

Return on Investment... It Pays To Belong

When a business invests in the Xenia Area Chamber, it forms a partnership with over 400 other investors that leverage time, money, and other assets to create stronger individual businesses and a stronger community.
