Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers Welcome Chris Davis

Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers are proud to announce the addition of Chris Davis to the band on mandolin and vocals.
Chris replaces Jeff Parker who departed the Radio Ramblers at the end of August to tour with his own band, Jeff Parker & Company.

He now makes his home in Russell, Kentucky. He's been playing music professionally for over 25 years with mandolin being his instrument of choice. His career has put him on stage with Larry Sparks, Alecia Nugent, Junior Sisk, Larry Cordle, Marty Raybon and as a fill-in for Gene Johnson with Grand Ole Opry group Diamond Rio.

In 2019, Chris became one of two guitarists and lead singers for The Grascals. 2022 has been a monumental year for Chris with the release of his first music as a solo artist on RBR Entertainment, and he officially began his tenure with Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers earlier this month with shows in West Virginia, Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Ohio. “I'm excited about the next chapter in my music career with Joe Mullins," says Davis. "I'll have the opportunity to play mandolin which is my first love, musically speaking, and I’m grateful to be part of a group with such deep roots in bluegrass music. It’s a win win!”

Mullins is thankful to have Davis in the group. “Chris and his family have been part of the bluegrass community in my area of Ohio for three generations." he says. "His grandpa was an old time fiddler who migrated to the area from deep in the mountains. His dad, Danny Davis, is so loved as a person and a wonderful singer, even working as a Clinch Mountain Boy with Dr. Ralph Stanley. Chris has years of valuable experience, but having a real bluegrass bloodline makes him a naturally gifted player and singer. His energy is contagious - He’s a hoss!”

Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers are gearing up to host the twice-annual Industrial Strength Bluegrass Festival, recently named IBMA's Event of the Year, taking place November 10th, 11th and 12th in Wilmington, Ohio. They are currently working on their next album expected in 2023 and will release a new bluegrass single as well as Christmas music to radio in November via Billy Blue Records.
