CSU Celebrates Student Academic Excellence during Honors Day Convocation
Central State University will recognize outstanding academic achievement during its Annual Honors Day Convocation on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.
More than 275 students will be celebrated at the 10 am event, which will take place in the Paul Robeson Cultural & Performing Arts Center. This year’s theme is Continuing the Tradition: A Culture of Merit and Excellence. The public is invited to attend.
All students honored have a 3.2 grade point average or above. Class Honors will be given to those with GPAs up to 3.49 and College Honors will be giving to those with GPAs of 3.5 and above.
High achieving seniors receive special Gold Cord Honors. The person in each class with the highest GPA is recognized as a Top Scholar.
The 2017 Top Scholars are:
- Ms. Rhesa Davis, West Friendship, MD., Senior Class Scholar
- Mr. Bryan Williams, Chicago, Ill., Junior Class Scholar
- Ms. Arame Diouf, Dakar, Senegal, Sophomore Class Scholar
- Mr. Charles Chirume, Columbus, Ohio, Freshman Class Scholar
