Xenia Community Schools Foundation Announces Scholarships 2022

Haley Kumph is the recipient of the annual scholarship sponsored by the Xenia Community Schools Foundation. The Foundation is a nonprofit organization operating in collaboration with and in support of the Xenia Community Schools. In addition to the scholarship, the Foundation awards $25,000.00 a year in classroom grants for special projects. The scholarship is funded with proceeds from the annual Xenia Community Schools Foundation Hall of Honor Dinner and Induction Ceremony. The scholarships were announced at the annual Scholarship Awards Assembly at Xenia High School on May 12, 2022.

Haley Kumph is a 2022 Graduate of Distinction. She has been a member of the Soccer Team, Bowling Team, Chemistry Club, National Honor Society, Renaissance, and Student Council. She has performed volunteer work through National Honor Society. Haley held leadership positions in several activities, including the Warner Middle School WEB program. Haley will attend the University of Dayton and major in Business. Her parents are Steve and Michelle Cowdrey.
The Foundation also administers funds for several other scholarships.
1. John E. Meyer II Memorial Scholarship The scholarship is funded by the sponsor family through the Xenia Community Schools Foundation. This year two scholarships were awarded.
Blayke Dudley is the son of Steven and Kandice Dudley. He is planning to attend Sinclair Community College and is currently undecided on a major.

Emily McIntosh is one of the Graduates of Distinction for the Class of 2022. She is the daughter of Jessy and Maranda McIntosh. Emily is planning to attend Ohio University and major in Chemistry.

2. Shirley J. Ellis and X*ACT Theater Scholarship Two scholarships were awarded. The scholarships were established to honor the memory of Shirley R. Ellis. They are awarded annually to one or more Xenia High School seniors, who will attend an institution of higher education and has/have participated in theater or attended theater classes.

Will Miller is one of the Graduates of Distinction for the Class of 2022. He is the son of John and Mary Miller. Will is planning to attend Ohio University and major in Media Arts & studies.

Makaiya Stark is the daughter of Betty Caldwell and Rocky Stark. She is planning to attend the University of Dayton to study Nursing.

3. Gale Adkins Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is new was awarded by the family for the first time this year.

Jobe Vogelsong is one of the Graduates of Distinction for the Class of 2022. Jobe is the son of Dan and Stephany Vogelsong. He is planning to attend Miami University and major in English/History Education.

The Xenia Community Schools Foundation provides $1,000.00 in a scholarship to a graduating senior. Students applying for the scholarship follow the scholarship application process through the Guidance Office at Xenia High School. The Foundation Scholarship Committee reviews the applications and make the final selection.
