Clark State College and the Greater Springfield Partnership invite you to join us on Friday, May 20, for an interactive and informative Diversity Engagement Training dedicated to embracing the challenges and successes of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in the workplace.

The Diversity Engagement session will help you to develop an equitable lens across your organization. You will gain an understanding of key terms that can affect the dynamics of the workplace providing you with the tools necessary to combat discrimination and bias. You will also have the opportunity to share, build upon, and receive input on your organization’s diversity statement.

Innovative Performance Consultant, Yolanda Stephens, will facilitate the Diversity Engagement focusing on the following key topics and areas that can impact your workplace:

Key Topics for Discussion

Implicit Bias and Unconscious Bias: What’s the difference?
Learn the definitions and differences between implicit and unconscious bias through examples and activities, identifying how and when they appear.

Microaggressions: What are they?
Discuss the three types of microaggressions, including stereotypes and prejudice, and learn how to work through them and create the proper responses.

Diversity Statements: What happens next?
Bring your diversity statements to the table for discussion and review and receive guidance on implementation, setting and achieving goals and incorporating the diversity statement into your strategic plan.
