Scholarships Available for Students Majoring in Agriculture and STEM Fields

"This is an excellent time to consider attending Central State University and majoring in the science, technology, engineering, math or agricultural fields.  These scholarships will position students, who would not ordinarily be afforded the opportunity to attend college, to not only attend, but graduate debt free.  I am excited to be part of a University that is continuing to build on a 134-year history of investing in our student's success."

Funds for the scholarship came from the $100 million awarded to the nineteen 1890 Land-Grant Universities in the United States as a result of the Build Back Better Act.

The CESTA/USDA 1890 David Scott Scholarship, supports recruitment and retention, student engagement, mentoring, and training for undergraduate students at Central State who major in an Ag/STEM related field in the College of Engineering, Science, Technology, and Agriculture (CESTA).

The scholarship was recently renamed in honor of US Congressman David Scott, chairman of the House Agriculture Committee, who successfully spearheaded legislation in the Build Back Better Act to provide permanent funding for student scholarships at the nineteen 1890 Land-Grant HBCUs.
