“Communications Operator Foster has been a great asset,” said Xenia Greene Central Communications Director Mindy Lane. “It has been a pleasure to work with Jackie and she will be greatly missed. Her compassion and dedication to the job ensured that our community
receives the best response possible in any emergency. I want to personally thank Jackie for 30 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Xenia and Greene County.”

During her 30 years of service to the community, Foster has been a member of the Public Relations Committee, volunteering to educate the public at schools, church festivals, and other events to raise awareness about 911 services and the job of a dispatcher. She was also active in
Xenia Police Division’s annual Safety City program to teach children about the importance of 911 services.

Foster also served as Lead Dispatcher and continually worked to improve her professional skills through training. During her tenure, Foster received numerous commendations and awards, including an award in 2017 from the Domestic Violence Prevention Center for excellent call
handling. She was also awarded Operator of the Year in 2003 and 2021.

During her time as a 911 Dispatcher, Foster handled many times of crisis and traumatic events including high speed pursuits, multiple-alarm fires, motor vehicle accidents, and severe weather events such as the September 20, 2000 tornado, and wind storm on September 14, 2008. Through it all she has been a calming presence, effective and clear communicator, and team player. We wish Foster the best in her retirement and thank her for 30 years of dedicated service.
