At One Bistro, we strive to be grateful in all circumstances and some days that is easier than others! Things can get chaotic and messy pretty quickly in the café especially on days when the place is packed, we have a line out the door, the phone is ringing and we have very few, if any, volunteers. God never ceases to amaze us and we are so very grateful when a diner will get up from their table, wash their hands, toss on an apron and begin to serve rather than be served or when someone walks in and asks, "do you need any help today?". We are also very grateful for our patrons who are patient while the chaos swirls around them and they seem happy to go with the flow. When their food arrives, in all of its deliciousness, they know it is worth the wait. It gets even better when they step to the register and generously ‘pay it forward’. Gratefully, most days are not that chaotic, largely because we have some beautiful people who faithfully sacrifice one day a week to come to the café to volunteer and serve you. We have much to be grateful for --- how about you?
We are so thankful for your support and involvement in HIS mission:
"To provide a place where our neighbors eat and
come together as one community."

A word from our volunteers . . .
Our volunteers come from a wide range of places. Senior nursing students from Kettering College recently volunteered and blessed us with thoughtful letters capturing their experience. We want to share a few snippets with you from each letter. Thank you, Kemi, Ian and Lyndsey!
"I was able to see the true meaning of community during this experience. The effort and time given to this organization by community members is truly amazing. Seeing first-hand how this organization impacts people of the community was very eye opening." Lyndsey
"Every volunteer at One Bistro was so welcoming and filled with jubilee. I was able to be a hostess and greet people as well as find them a place to sit. I could see how it was impacting the customers' days as they were eating a delicious meal. During this time, I realized how fortunate I am to have the life that I have." Ian
"This volunteer opportunity also challenged the way that I have always viewed providing food for those in need. It was built for the community and is run by the community, and "the pay what you can afford" concept makes it all possible." Kemi
