Our Neighbors' News

Community is at the heart of the One Bistro mission along with the delicious food we serve. Our mission is to provide a place where our neighbors eat and come together as one community. One Bistro is blessed to have such a fantastic community of people behind it. A community who shows up to volunteer on their own initiative and also when called upon in time of need.  A community who steps up to sponsor our weekly Community Meal. A community who brings resources to our patrons. A community who partners with us by providing fresh produce from their gardens and farms. A community who is designing and building a hydroponic garden to benefit and reduce our food costs. A community who invites us into special events so we can bless them with food and share the mission of One Bistro. A community who embraces our pay-it-forward model. A community who gives faithfully month after month by sponsoring a table to support our mission. A community where patrons fellowship with one another. A community where people serve together as groups enhancing their relationships with one another and touching the lives of our patrons. This edition of our newsletter is dedicated to the One Bistro community…YOU!

We are so thankful for your support and involvement in HIS mission:

"To provide a place where our neighbors eat and
come together as one community."

We are better together!

Another Neighborhood Night Out

One Bistro & the City of Xenia

One Bistro was once again honored to partner with the City of Xenia for their Neighborhood Night Out. This one was at Lexington Park on September 28. One Bistro donated the food and then worked alongside of the City employees to build out and package 250 boxed meals. The City has been doing NNO the last few years and we welcomed the opportunity to participate by doing what we do best - feeding our neighbors!

Volunteer Training & Information Session

If you have ever wondered about volunteering and wanted more information prior to actually serving, we are holding a Volunteer Information and Training Session on

Tuesday, October 5 from 10:30-12:30

We will cover the basics for nearly every volunteer position and answer all of your questions.

Call the Bistro for more information or to reserve a place 937-736-2358.

Thank you to all of the beautiful people who served during Community Meal this past quarter. We cannot do what we do without your help and service. Thank you also to our many wonderful guests who blessed us with your presence. Below are a few photos from some of our meals!

Mission Results
  • September PIF: 972 meals
  • September Comp: 1254 meals
  • YTD Comp: 5112 meals
  • Since 2012: 76,757 meals

**PIF means "Pay-It-Forward"
**Comp means "Meals given away"

We think this is worth repeating! Thank you to ALL who sacrificed and gave generously over the years to make it possible for One Bistro to give away 75,000+ meals.

"I read about this restaurant on Trip Advisor. Very interesting concept. We were driving from Lexington back to Michigan and planned this to be our lunch stop. The people are so friendly that work there. No one gets a salary but the cook. This is a nonprofit. Now to the food. I had the chicken burger; my husband had a steak tip roll up with the most amazing steak fries. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked to die for. Homemade ice cream to top off our visit. If you live anywhere near Xenia or plan to pass by, this place is a must."

Community Meal

Every Wednesday Evening From 5:00-7:00

All Are Welcome!!

"What an awesome concept! This restaurant offers meals for paying customers or those who can't afford to pay. It works on a pay it forward type concept. Volunteers run most of the restaurant with a few paid staff. We ordered from the Saturday brunch menu; French toast and eggs Benedict. Both were very good. The vibe is laid back and warm."
