Central State University’s Director of Health & Legal Pre-Professional Program Named National HBCU Pre-Law Advisor of the Year for 2021

Central State University is proud to announce our director of Health & Legal Pre-Professional Program has been named National HBCU  Pre-Law Advisor of the Year for 2021.
 
Sidney Williams, Esq., will be honored during the Eighth Annual National HBCU Pre-Law Summit and Law Expo at the - The Virtual Experience sponsored by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) on September 16, 2021.   
 
Williams has served as the director, Health & Legal Pre-Professional Program, since 2011.  Under his leadership, Williams has built an exceptional Pre-Law program that incorporates personal advisement and assessment, LSAT preparation, and law school exploration tours.  His students have been accepted into some of America’s finest law schools: The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, Notre Dame Law School, Michigan State University College of Law, Indiana University Maurer School of Law, Marquette University Law School, North Carolina Central School of Law, University of Dayton School of Law, Capital University Law School, University of Akron School of Law, and others.
            
“As director of the Pre-Law Program, Mr. Williams has built a stellar program,” stated Kent Lollis, Executive Director for Diversity Initiatives for the Law School Admission Council (LSAC). “The Central State model (Pre-Law Program) is so unique in fact that we (LSAC) featured it at a recent professional development conference for pre-law advisors from HACU and HBCU schools.  The response was overwhelmingly positive.”

Williams is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.  He is a law graduate of the University of Virginia and has worked for two of Ohio’s most prestigious law firms: Porter, Wright, Morris & Arthur and Hans Loeser and Parks.  He is the former Dean of Students at the University of Dayton, School of Law.
