Greene County Board of Health Recognizes Local Organizations for COVID-19 Assistance

XENIA, OH – At the last three monthly meetings of the Greene County Board of Health, three new resolutions of commendation and appreciation were approved that recognizes exemplary service of local organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) received Resolution #21- 05-06-03, Bridges of Hope received Resolution #21-06-03-10, and Beavercreek Township Fire Emergency Medical Services received Resolution #21-07-01-25.

The MRC and numerous other volunteers provided much needed manpower during vaccination clinics which enabled Greene County Public Health to assure the health and safety of residents and visitors to Greene County by providing the necessary standards, guidelines, and vaccinations needed by the Greene County community. Bridges of Hope provided Greene County Public Health with assistance in reaching the homeless community of Greene County for vaccination during the pandemic. Beavercreek Township Fire Emergency Medical Services also provided manpower and medical assistance during vaccination clinics held by Greene County Public Health. Without the support of each of these organizations, the health district’s ability to address the needs of the community would have been severely diminished.

These documents state that the commendation and appreciation for service provided and assistance proffered by the organizations be made publicly known through inclusion of each resolution in the official record of the Greene County Board of Health and distribution of copies of each to the local media, metro Dayton area, and the Director of the Ohio Department of Health.

Board of Health members Nancy Terwoord, Jane Clifton and Tamisha Samiec, MD, moved for the approval of the resolutions, while members William Harden and Mark Walsh seconded the motions. The motions were carried by acclamation.

The resolutions were signed by Melissa Howell, MS, MBA, MPH, RN, RS, Health Commissioner, and Secretary for the Board of Health.
