STRONGER FAMILIES: THRIVING COMMUNITIES

Dear Community Partner,

United Way of Greater Dayton (UWGDA) has long provided essential services to lift our neighbors up in their time of need. Our pillars focus on income stability, education, and health for the most vulnerable among us.

COVID-19 crisis created many challenges and uncertainties for us all. To adapt, UWGDA addressed our neighbors in need with essential services. However, the long journey revealed many new neighbors, who for the first time, faced a dire need for help.

With a new strategic vision, United Way of the Greater Dayton Area (UWGDA) will launch a new initiative known as Strong Families. The program works in two prongs: Strong Families Initiative and Prosperi-Key. Strong Families helps families navigate and prevent financial crisis. This two-generation approach ensures families stay in their homes, become financially stable, and their children succeed in school. The referral program offers a collective approach to work with local agencies to identify the family’s particular challenges, and bring resources together to deliver long term success.

Correspondingly, Prosperi-Key will launch as a website platform to connect working households with affordable goods and services. As a nonprofit service, the platform delivers a business advantage through corporate social responsibility. Cause market services that offer a helping hand to local neighbors include automobiles, banking/ member services, car care, daycare, insurance, health/beauty, home improvements, entertainment, employment and educational opportunities, etc.

In addition to the new programs set to launch, I encourage you to join us for upcoming events happening in Greene County. We realize it takes all of us, United, to have the kind of impact our community needs to support Greene County and the communities we serve.

With Gratitude,

Rebecca Cantrell, MA ABS, MPA, CNP
