State Fund Payroll Changes & SI Update

Changes to your Notice of Estimated Annual Premium & Premium Installment Schedule

The Ohio BWC mailed the Notice of Estimated Annual Premium and Premium Installment Schedule for the 2020-2021 Policy Year.  This notice was sent to all active policies during the last week of April.

The Ohio BWC - because of the potential impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic - reduced every policy's estimated payroll by 20%.  This is NOT a premium reduction.  If your payroll was/is unchanged, you will be responsible for the premium balance during next summer's True-up period

BWC Extends Premium Deferral until Sept. 1

Second deferral in COVID-19 pandemic

COLUMBUS - Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced that the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) is deferring the due date for employers to pay their June, July, and August premium installments until Sept.1.

Governor DeWine said the deferral is designed to help employers focus resources on re-opening their businesses under his Responsible RestartOhio Plan, the state's effort to restart the economy while keeping Ohioans safe amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic."By extending the premium due date, businesses can continue to focus on the safety and well-being of their employees and customers during this health pandemic," said Governor DeWine.

BWC Administrator/CEO Stephanie McCloud noted the deferral is the second deadline extension given to employers since COVID-19 emerged in Ohio in March.

Destination Excellence Deadlines Pushed

Normally, the deadline for PA employers to apply for ISSP (Industry Specific Safety Program), DFSP (Drug Free Safety Program), and TWB (Transitional Work Bonus) would be the last business day of May (May 29th this year).

An extension of this deadline to June 30, 2020, for new employers, as well as those employers who withdrew from the program previously, to apply for these programs with consideration that many employers may not have been working and able to submit applications timely was approved.
