We are so excited to include you in our brand new NEWSLETTER! We are looking forward to being able to keep you informed about what is happening at the Bistro on a monthly basis, as well as provide information on how you can be involved! You are receiving this newsletter because you have connected with One Bistro as a volunteer, donor or sponsor. We are so thankful for your support and involvement in our mission: "To provide a place where our neighbors eat and come together as one community."
What's New?
- A big welcome to Kat, our new Prep Cook and Chloe, our Culinary Intern from Greene County Career Center! We're so happy to have you on-board!!
- One Bistro will serve a special Thanksgiving Meal on Wednesday November 27th (the Wednesday before Thanksgiving). We hope you can join us!
- Giving Tuesday is coming up on December 3, 2019. Stay tuned for more information and how you can be involved!! We will have a new menu out in December.
"This cafe is beyond amazing. From the time you walk in it was so warm and inviting. We were greeted with Joy and outstanding service from the staff (waitress Kalie is the bomb) and crew as well. A Tale of Two Families Garica
Nearly two years ago, Garica moved to Xenia with her kids in search of a new start. She was living in a nearby shelter, and a neighbor told her about One Bistro and Wednesday night Community Meal. She has been coming faithfully ever since, and, in fact, she says they never miss! Even when she is working, her boyfriend will bring the kids (Ziann, Zhariyah, Xurie, Carson, Ila and baby Leilani) to Community Meal! Garica now works for Toward Independence as a Direct Support Professional at one of their group homes. She says they love Xenia because "it has a sense of community and there are so many resources available. Nobody makes you feel like an outcast for falling down on your luck!" One Bistro's Community Meal has become so important to them. In a world of inconsistency, it is nice to be able to count on a hot meal, served in a friendly way, and a warm and welcoming place to spend an evening together as a family. The chili-mac is her personal favorite!
William
William was born in Xenia and has lived here his entire life. His parents moved here from Hillsboro before he was born. William has been coming to Community Meal at One Bistro for almost as long as it has been open! He walks over a mile from his home near the fairgrounds, faithfully, in all kinds of weather. Rain or snow or shine, William almost never misses! Community Meal, besides giving him a night off from cooking, is a great opportunity to meet people and spend time with friends, Williams says. The food is always delicious. The meatloaf is his favorite! "The Bistro brings different people in and different people together," says William, "Come give it a try and see if you like it!"

We love our volunteers at One Bistro!! It is because of your faithful service and love for your neighbors that we are able to provide a safe place for our community to gather, and nourish their bodies, and their souls! We are already looking for groups and individuals to sign-up to volunteer in 2020.
