PRE-MED 2.0 CAMP 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Students will learn critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrive. Skills covered in this course include first aid; choking relief; and what to do for sudden cardiac arrest. Specific skills include: First aid basics, Medical emergencies, Injury emergencies, Environmental emergencies, Preventing illness and injury, CPR and AED use, and Opioid-associated life-threatening emergencies. Upon completion of this course, students will receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course completion card that is valid for 2 years. Course will be taught by experienced local Firefighter/Paramedic, providing real-world application and discussion of the skills being learned. Register for the afternoon session of Sports Science to create an all day option. |
