“Hallie Quinn Brown” to Speak at Historical Society
On Monday April 8th, at 7 PM, the Greene County Ohio Historical Society welcomes LaVerne Sci. Ms. Sci will present a program on Hallie Quinn Brown. Ms. Brown was a professor of elocution, the art of public speaking, at Wilberforce University. Ms. Sci has presented her presentation to groups over the past 20 years. Sci states, “History, largely, has not remembered her. So much African-American history has been omitted that I am afraid it will be forgotten. Ordinary people have done extraordinary things, and in particular Hallie Quinn Brown was one such person.” The Greene County Historical Society is located at 74 West Church St in Xenia.
