Generational Differences
in the Workplace
Understanding, Adapting and Moving Forward
We will take a brief look at the demographics, and societal implications, of all five generations currently in the workforce to understand how each has been affected and molded by their generational experiences. Then we will focus on the upcoming generations – Millennials and Generation Z – and explore actionable strategies for engaging and retaining those generations in the workforce.
Our presenter will be Lesli Beavers, Director of Workforce and Business Solutions at Clark State Community College, who has a diverse background in direct industry, nonprofit and higher education. Lesli originally moved to the area as General Manager of Pies and Pints, LLC and opened the restaurant location at The Greene in Beavercreek. In this role, Lesli had direct experience in recruiting and retaining local workforce, employing and supervising a staff of 75 employees. Lesli is a graduate of the Leadership Clark County program, is currently serving as the Vice President of the Beavercreek Women’s League, and has been involved in several other local and regional associations. Nationally, Lesli is currently a participant in the National Council for Workforce Education’s New Workforce Professionals Academy.
