The time is almost here for the 5th Annual The Shirley R. Ellis Memorial Golf Classic for X*ACT is being held September 14th again at WGC golf course in Xenia, Ohio. Please hold the date and try for a HOLE-IN-ONE to Win a CAR from Bill Marine Ford!
Registration is at 8:30am and Tee Time is 9:00am.
First, we want to give you an update on how last year’s outing has impacted The Xenia Area Community Theater and our community. On May 11, we awarded two scholarships to Xenia High School graduates. The first Shirley R. Ellis Memorial Theater Scholarship award for $750 was given to Sophia Ensey. Sophia has been an active member of the XHS music community and plans to major in Chemistry at Wittenberg University. The second scholarship, valued at $500, was awarded to Lyndia Dye. Lyndia participated in Theatre Production at XHS, including Swing Dance and Art. She is attending Sinclair Community College where she will major in Theatre. Congratulations to both Sophia and Lyndia, we wish them all the best as they pursue their dreams.
Second, we are thrilled to announce a portion of the income from the outing has also gone to support The Lynda & Gerald Troy Scholarship Fund to assist area youth in need with financial support to attend theater and art workshops and camps as well as to offset costs for area youth to attend season productions. Funds from the outing also went to help with facility repairs and the modernization of our theater sales system to better handle sales and financial tracking within the theater operations. These updates will generate over $2,000 a year in additional revenue for the Arts Center.
These remarkable milestones would not have been possible without support from X*ACT supporters. From all of us in the Ellis family and at X*ACT, thank you so very much for all you’ve done and your support our Arts Center.
