Greene County Parks & Trails will host a seminar focusing on monarch butterflies and their reliance on milkweed in the environment beginning at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 17, at the Russ Nature Reserve, 2380 Kemp Rd., Beavercreek.
The entire family can learn how to help Monarch butterflies. Participants will capture and tag Monarch butterflies as they help naturalists with a worldwide science project. A ‘tagged’ monarch butterfly from this area was found in Mexico during the past few years.
Milkweed seeds and a Monarch booklet will be available for participants to take home.
The event is free with donations accepted.
