Greene County Parks & Trails Hosts Field Trip to Arc of Appalachia: Junction Earthworks

Join Greene County Parks & Trails’ for  a field trip to the Arc of Appalachia-Junction Earthworks Field Trip in southern Ohio on Sunday, June 11.

Participants will leave the Narrows Reserve Nature Center, 2575 Indian Ripple Rd., Beavercreek, at 9 a.m. and return by 4 p.m.

The Junction Earthworks is one of the newest preserved archeological sites in Ohio and is comprised of nine ceremonial earthworks constructed by the Hopewell approximately 2,000 years ago.. The site is shaped like a four-leaf clover and is called the Quatrefoil.

The group will go on a guided hike through both the earthworks and the surrounding prairie.

Cost for the program is $30, Greene County resident; $40, non-resident. Preregistration is required before June 5.
